the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia

What is it?

Occupational Skills Training provides Clients with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain employment in a given occupation. It is provided for skills that are in-demand in the local labour market and suitable to address the Client’s employment related needs.

How do I access it?

To apply for Occupational Skills Training, you will need to see an employment counsellor to verify your eligibility and complete an application. Approval of an application is based on the client showing a thorough job search. It also must be decided that skills training will be the most direct return to work. Other considerations are financial need and the likelihood of successful completion and employment.
