Kootenay Wage Subsidy

Categories:

Looking for work but feel you may need more training?  Or are you an employer who wants to hire someone but have more patience than money?  The Kootenay Wage Subsidy (KWS) program rewards employers for hiring and training individuals who they determine will work into long-term employees, while job seekers get the training they need making this program a win-win opportunity.

Kootenay Wage Subsidy in Action!

Jennifer Cook, President of Kootenay Columbia Financial says . . .

"One aspect of the Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program that I found invaluable is that they advertised the position and collected the resumes.  This prevented interruptions at the office.  I found it helpful to discuss the final applicants with the staff of the Kootenay Wage Subsidy program as I found their advice extremely helpful.  I would use this program again if I needed to hire more staff."

The Kootenay Wage Subsidy helped the Rossland Chamber's Executive Director learn the ropes.

"The Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program is an excellent way for a new employee to learn on the job, and feel supported with their progress along the way.  I think it is one of the best ways to gain new skills, and for employers to hire and retain high quality employees.  This program has my recommendation!"

Renee Clark, Executive Director, Rossland Chamber of Commerce

The Kootenay Association for Science & Technology [KAST] was able to implement the Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program with the hiring of Michelle in a full time position.

“The most rewarding aspect of the Kootenay Wage Subsidy Program for me was not only the opportunity to gain full time employment in the region but to be working in an organization where I’m receiving valuable training in areas that are transferable and exciting, “ says Michelle d’Entremont.

“KWS support has helped KAST advance technology business interest in the Kootenay’s, and the Skills Centre is always a pleasure to work with.”

Kelvin Saldern, Executive Director of the Kootenay Association for Science & Technology [KAST].

Don’t ever expect anyone to 100 percent commit themselves to supporting a project, a direction or a practice unless they had input into creating it.
