The Right Stuff
The Right Stuff is a social enterprise that provides the collating and delivery service of the daily newspaper to the Greater Trail community. The work provides youth with paid employment experience in a supportive environment.
The Skills Centre provides the facility and the supervision for the Right Stuff program.
The youth also have access to an employment facilitator who helps them engage in goal setting, and provides assistance with gaining future employment opportunities. If the youth are interested in obtaining additional training The Skills Centre will provide the opportunities to access courses such as:
- Workplace safety
- Forklift training
- Occupational First Aid
By securing a contract for service delivery with the Trail Daily Times newspaper, The Right Stuff has been able to operate successfully since 2002 with no government funding. In addition to the six youth employees, the Right Stuff also provides employment to four delivery drivers on a contract basis.
